How we verify compatibility

A “works with” answer is only useful if you can check it. So each one on this site points to the page it came from.

Where the data comes from

In order of preference:

  1. The manufacturer's own product page, datasheet, manual or support article.
  2. The Connectivity Standards Alliance certification database, for Matter.
  3. Platform pages from Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant.
  4. Retailers and independent reviews, only to back up one of the above.

Two passes per device

One pass collects the specs and sources. A second pass goes through every claim again on its own and checks that the cited page actually says it, for that exact model and region. Anything that doesn't hold up is markedUnconfirmed instead of guessed. A device appears on the site only after the second pass.

What the labels mean

Regions and versions

The US and EU versions of a plug often have different model numbers, radios or certifications. We treat them as separate devices and list the regions each record covers.

Corrections

Firmware updates change compatibility all the time. If something here is wrong or out of date, open an issue with a link, and we'll re-check it. No brand pays to be listed, and there are no affiliate links.
