Matter or the brand’s own integration: how devices connect

A device reaches a platform in one of three ways: directly, through the brand's own integration (a HomeKit pairing code, an Alexa skill, a Google Home link, a Home Assistant integration); via Matter, which any Matter platform can add without the brand's app; or through a hub such as a Hue Bridge. 86 of the 350 devices we've checked are Matter-certified: 42 over Wi-Fi and 38 over Thread.

44 of the Matter-certified devices also have a brand integration with at least one platform. When a device has both, we list the brand integration as "Yes" and mention Matter in its note, so the counts below show Matter as the way in only where it is the only one we confirmed.
