Specs that matter for setup
- Radio: The US store page lists dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Zigbee/Thread (802.15.4) and Bluetooth 5.1, with PoE; Aqara's launch release adds IR and Power over Ethernet. Model number HM-G01E comes from the US store page.
- Hub: It is the hub; Aqara's support page says it takes over from existing Aqara hubs and moves their automations to local operation.
- Local control: Aqara says automations move from the cloud to the hub and keep working when the internet is down. Cloud push notifications still need an internet connection.
- Connects devices over: Built-in IR blaster; CSA describes Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth child devices.
- Matter bridge: The US store page calls it a Matter bridge, and Aqara says Advanced Matter Bridging debuted on the Hub M3 (firmware 4.3.4 or newer).
- Thread border router: Aqara's launch release and both CSA listings call it a Thread border router; Home Assistant names it as one too. The US store page itself only says it supports Thread devices.
- Max devices: Advanced Matter Bridging needs firmware 4.3.4 or newer.
