Tapo P105: what it works with

- Apple Home Unconfirmed
- Google Home Yes
- Amazon Alexa Yes
- SmartThings Yes
- Home Assistant Yes
TP-Link's Tapo P105 is a mini US plug for Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings, each linked through your Tapo account. Home Assistant's official TP-Link integration supports it too and controls it on your local network. It joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly, using Bluetooth only for setup, and is rated 15 A / 1800 W. Two gaps: no energy monitoring, and TP-Link doesn't list Apple Home or Matter.

Ecosystem compatibility
| Platform | Works? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Matter | Unconfirmed | TP-Link lists Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings for the P105 and doesn't mention Matter, but never says it has none. TP-Link's Matter plugs carry an M suffix (e.g. P125M). |
| Apple Home | Unconfirmed | TP-Link's P105 platform list names Alexa, Google Assistant and SmartThings, not HomeKit, but doesn't rule it out.[2] |
| Google Home | Yes | Link the Tapo account in the Google Home app or from the Tapo app.[2],[5] |
| Amazon Alexa | Yes | Link the Tapo account through the Tapo skill.[2],[6] |
| SmartThings | Yes | TP-Link lists Samsung SmartThings among the P105's platforms.[2] |
| Home Assistant | Yes | The official TP-Link Smart Home integration lists the P105. Tapo devices need your TP-Link account credentials to authenticate.[7] |
“Via Matter” means you add it with that platform's Matter controller instead of a brand skill or app. “Unconfirmed” means we couldn't find an official source either way. How we verify.
Specs that matter for setup
- Radio: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). Bluetooth is used for setup only.
- Hub: Connects straight to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; TP-Link says no hub is required.
- Local control: Home Assistant's integration talks to the plug on the local network. The Tapo app itself goes through the cloud.
- Energy monitoring: TP-Link says the P110 and P115 measure energy; the P100 and P105 don't.
- Max load: 15 A, 1800 W at 120 V general use / resistive load; 1/6 HP motor. The US page gives 100–125 V input; the 2020 datasheet and some boxes say 100–240 V.
