Bring a Thread border router and the IKEA KAJPLATS E27 colour bulb works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant over Matter. Without one, not even your phone can control it. IKEA's DIRIGERA hub does the job, as does a HomePod, Nest Hub or Thread-capable Echo. The bulb (706.085.75) puts out 1055 lumens with full colour plus adjustable white, and it's Matter-certified (Matter 1.4). IKEA says KAJPLATS replaced TRÅDFRI in January 2026.

• Radio: IKEA describes it as Matter over Thread. Bluetooth comes only from the CSA certification listing (Thread and Bluetooth transports); IKEA's page doesn't mention it, and it is presumably for Matter commissioning.
• Hub: IKEA says phone control needs a Thread border router, e.g. its DIRIGERA hub. A HomePod, Nest Hub or Thread-capable Echo also works as a border router.
