Aqara's U100 smart lock talks to Apple Home directly, with Home Key by tapping an iPhone or Apple Watch, but Alexa and Google Home go through an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub. Specs that matter for setup
- Radio: Aqara's spec sheet lists Bluetooth 5.0 and Zigbee 3.0, plus NFC for Home Key and cards. The lock itself has no Wi-Fi or Thread.
- Hub: Aqara says the lock works out of the box over Bluetooth with the Aqara Home app, without a hub. Remote control, remote passcodes, Alexa, Google and Matter need an Aqara hub.
- Local control: No Aqara source describes local-only control explicitly.
- Fit: American-standard deadbolt for a 60 or 70 mm (2 3/8 or 2 3/4 inch) backset and doors 35 to 55 mm thick.
