Eve · model Eve Energy Outdoor 20ECM8301 (product no. 10ECM8351) · For Europe
- Matter Yes, over Thread
- Apple Home Via Matter
- Google Home Via Matter
- Amazon Alexa Via Matter
- SmartThings Via Matter
- Home Assistant Via Matter
Eve Energy Outdoor runs on Matter over Thread, which is how it works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant. Each of those needs a hub that's both a Matter controller and a Thread border router. Being mains-powered, it can also act as a Thread router for other devices. Its power meter shows readings in the Eve app and SmartThings, not in Alexa or Google Home. Rated 10 A / 2300 W continuous, 16 A / 3680 W peak.

| Matter | Yes, over Thread | Eve sells it as a Matter-over-Thread device. A CSA entry that looks like it (CSA23K53MAT42554-24) only showed up in a sidebar on another Eve page, so we don't cite it.[1],[2],[3],[5] Other Matter smart plugs |
| Apple Home | Via Matter | Through Matter. Needs an Apple home hub that is a Thread border router; Eve names HomePod (2nd gen), HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K (2nd gen, or 3rd gen 128 GB).[2],[4] |
| Google Home | Via Matter | Through Matter. Needs a Google hub that is a Matter controller and Thread border router. Eve says power metering isn't shown in Google Home.[2],[4] |
| Amazon Alexa | Via Matter | Through Matter. Needs an Echo that is a Matter controller and Thread border router. Eve says power metering isn't shown in Alexa.[2],[4] |
| SmartThings | Via Matter | Through Matter. Needs a SmartThings hub with Thread. Eve says power readings appear in SmartThings Energy.[2],[4] |
| Home Assistant | Via Matter | Home Assistant's Works with Home Assistant announcement names Eve Energy Outdoor, and Eve's page shows the logo. Pairs through the Matter integration; needs a Thread border router.[1],[6],[7] |
“Via Matter” means you add it with that platform's Matter controller instead of a brand skill or app. “Unconfirmed” means we couldn't find an official source either way. How we verify.
Specs that matter for setup
- Radio: Matter over Thread. Eve classes it as a mains-powered Full Thread Device, so it can act as a Thread router for other devices.
- Hub: Eve says it needs a hub that is both a Matter controller and a Thread border router. Eve's iOS 18 hub-free mode exists for some devices, but we couldn't confirm it covers this one.
- Local control: Matter over Thread runs on the local network through your own hub; no Eve cloud account is involved in control.
- Energy monitoring: Built-in power meter with cost estimates in the Eve app. Readings show in Apple Home (via the Eve app) and SmartThings, but not in Alexa or Google Home.
- Max load: Eve lists 10 A / 2300 W as the permanent (continuous) load and 16 A / 3680 W as the peak current, so we use 2300 W. Incandescent lamps up to 1 A / 240 W.
