Apple Home Key works on the Level Lock+ (Matter), a deadbolt replacement that also joins Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant over Matter on Thread. It runs Bluetooth and Thread at the same time, so the Level app works without a border router while Matter platforms and away-from-home control need one. One CR2 battery gives up to a year in typical use. The keypad is a separate purchase.

- Radio: Level lists Bluetooth 4.0/5.0 and Matter over Thread, running at the same time.
- Hub: The Level app controls the lock directly over Bluetooth. Matter platforms and away-from-home control need a Thread border router.
- Local control: Matter over Thread stays on the local network.
- Fit: Level says the Lock+ replaces your existing lock and comes with its own house keys; the spec page lists a 1 3/4 in door, 2 1/8 in bore and 2 3/8 in backset. Do not confuse it with the Level Bolt, the retrofit model that keeps your current keys.
- Keypad: The Level Keypad is a separate accessory, sold on its own.
- Power: One CR2 lithium (non-rechargeable) battery hidden inside the bolt; Level gives up to a year of life in typical use.
