The Lutron Caséta PD-6WCL replaces a standard single-pole dimmer in a 1-gang US wallbox, and its two-wire design needs no neutral. Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings all reach it through the Caséta Smart Bridge (now called Smart Hub); Home Assistant also connects to the bridge, over the local network. On its own it pairs only with Pico remotes and sensors. It dims 150 W of LED or 600 W of incandescent and halogen.

Specs that matter for setup
- Radio: The dimmer uses Lutron's own Clear Connect RF radio, which isn't Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave or Bluetooth, so none of our radio values fit. The Smart Bridge (Smart Hub) talks to it over Clear Connect and joins your router by Ethernet.
- Hub: Lutron says remote access, scenes, schedules and voice assistants need the Smart Bridge (now called Smart Hub). Without it the dimmer pairs only with Pico remotes and sensors.
- Local control: Home Assistant's Lutron Caséta integration talks to the Smart Bridge over the local network (local push). Lutron's app, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings links go through Lutron's cloud.
- Form: Replaces a standard single-pole wall dimmer in a 1-gang US wallbox.
- Dimmer: Rated 150 W for dimmable LED and 600 W for incandescent or halogen.
- Needs neutral wire: Two-wire design that installs like a regular switch. A ground wire is optional unless local code demands it.
- Gangs / channels: Lutron's spec calls for a 1-gang US wallbox.
Before you buy
- Needs the Caséta Smart Bridge (now called Smart Hub) for app, voice and ecosystem control; the bridge plugs into your router by Ethernet.
